Outlined below is a standard design and construction process. However, MLD understands
each project is different and some stages in the process may not be required. MLD
is dedicated to providing a strategy specifically tailored to the client’s individual
Meet with client and be briefed on the project, including outlining anticipated outcomes,
identifying milestones and understanding client’s desired style. Following the meeting
a detailed Fee Proposal will be submitted to the client for approval.
PROJECT INCEPTION & PRELIMINARIES
Receive base information in appropriate formats from architects and/ or engineers
and establish whether further information is required. A site survey or site measure
may be required. Preparation of base plan and drawing setup.
Schematic design in the form of plans, sections, elevations and images are presented
to the client. The scope includes hard surfaces such as paving and decking, shade
structures, outdoor kitchens and alfresco areas, swimming pools, furniture, lighting
and planting. Present concept to client for review and feedback.
Preparation of refined design taking into consideration comments made at the concept
design stage. Detailed plans, sections, elevations, an opinion of probable costs,
written specification, and planting and lighting schedules are presented to client
for final approval.
Prepare document package for tender and construction, including working drawings,
construction details and written specification. Prepare and submit applications to
relevant authorities for endorsements and/or approvals.
